What qualities or characteristics helped to make the course instructor effective?

Ron is a great asset to CWU. He teaches with passion and fairness. He was always there to help students have a greater understanding of Accounting! Thanks~

the focus on the essence of the course material rather than on repetitious busywork or fighting with an unfamiliar program made this a concise, concentrated class. Appropriate examples were used to put the material in context, which was also a motivating factor. Ron always comes through with a witty remark, although most of the time they seemed to fall on the deaf ears of 8AM.

The course instructor did every thing he could to clarify the point in which he was trying to make. He expressed concern for the students and was available for help at just about any time.

The use of email and excel allowed me to better understand the accounting concepts. Using excel for homework allowed me to understand it better

Ron really knew what he was talking about so it made it much easier to understand some of the difficult content. Also his knowledge of how to use new technology to teach was very helpful. He was also very prompt in returning e-mails.

He taught us just enough to do the homework, and then went over it after we tried so that we could tell what we did wrong. This helped to better understand the information

This course contained a high amout of information to learn and the computerized system help make this process easier. Power point's were awsome, homework was fustrating at first then gradually became easier with each assignment, and the crosswords and web exersises helped with varity. I diffinatly believe that this course is one of the best knowlege obtaing cousres I've ever taken.

I liked the use of email to get help on homework. Professor Tidd was usually very quick to respond to any questions that I had. He is very knowledgable about accounting and I feel that I learned a lot about accounting from this course.

When I cold struggle with a homework problem from home, send it to you, then get a few answered questions via email to help me finish the assignment.

Your web page with the homework and class schedule was very useful. Your laid back style makes the class setting comfortable. Thanks

The instructor was very effective in teaching this course. He was always willing to answer questions, always was enthusiastic when it came to example and problems. The instructor was very personal which was welcoming. He was very promt to email answers to the questions you had sent earlier.

Relating the course material to current events, following the outline in the textbook when lecturing made studying for the test easier

He understood that at times it was tough to understand the information provided. He gave the class alot of leway, it made it a much more enjoyable experience.

The first thing that I enjoyed was how personable Professor Tidd was. Professor Tidd went out of his way to relate to the kids. Also Professor Tidd was more that available all the time to help students with questions and problems. I have been to a few colleges now, and I have never had a Professor so willing to be more than available to help the student.

Ron was very organized and made it easy to use e-mail for communication. His quick responses to my e-mails were very helpful. Both the crosswords and the excel assignments were beneficial and made it easier to learn the material.

Ron is very clear in explaining the material. He is also interesting to watch. He keeps things going so it is not easy to become bored

Went over all material thoroughly and effectively and answered all questions. Didn't go too fast and covered all homwork assignments.

The instructor asked questions to as many students a possible during each class. He had a study session on a holiday that we had the option of going to in order to better understand the material for the following days exam. He passed out worksheets so we could workout practice problems during class. Working from the Internet proved to be more convenient than working out the problems on paper, and saved time. The crossword puzzles were always a relief from regular homework. I enjoyed doing them and learned from them. Although accounting is not my forte I do feel that Dr. Tidd's class was informative, and meaningful.

You had a good understanding of business affairs becuase of your background in the field and it insured me of your knowledge. You never had a bad additude while teaching; making you easy to get along with and feel comfortable confronting. You organization of the whole quarter from everyday instructing to the website was very nice too;except for that 2nd mid-term, but I really didn't mind. Overall your organization made my life easier, to be able tocheck on homework and criteria that needed to be evaluated was a big help. Wish more teachers had online services like this.
