Student Evaluations- Instructor's Questionnaire
Summer 2003

What qualities or characteristics helped to make the course instructor effective?

Good web site, hand outs, sattelite was excellent. Seemed the same when instructor came to visit. I have taken master's distance courses, and this was excellent in terms of actually having a realistic classroom lecture, which helps me learn over non-lecture.

Ron obviously put a lot of time into the course. He was always very available to asks questions online and always responded in a very timely manner. Ron was very knowledgable about the course material. He put together a very creative package of learning opportunities (a lot of variety). Ron challenged students to think outside of the box and to focus on ways to benefit the clients. This type of mentality will serve aspiring accountants well as students look to provided value to clients once they enter the accounting profession.

Instructor had great knowledge of topic. Provided extremely effective tax planning excel worksheets that I will use and refer to in the future. Instructor provided great and sufficient resources to help one to look up tax issues and get questions answered.

I liked the powerpoint and the information that it contained.

His knowledge of the subject matter, and his method of presentation were quite effective. His superb sense of wit and dry sense of humor, mixed with a very profesional presentation made an otherwise cumbersome subject not only tolerable, but actually lively.

Class requirements and goals were sytematically set forward, as well as assignments and such. Made it easy to know what exactly was due. The large amount of information passed through course was put into an easy to read and understand format.

The class was well organized and the use of powerpoint lecture notes was especially helpful. The professor is well qualified and experienced in the subject matter which was reflected in the overall presentation. Classroom time was well spent. I liked the variety of assignments versus a standard "quiz and test" approach. The research homework, excel homework, case studies and tax return projects all helped to understand the actual course material plus developed other skills as well.

The instructor was very good at explaining topics. What I especially liked was that if the instructor didn't know an answer to a topic he would look it up at discuss it the next class period.

Everything electronic helps make this course a success. Having information available on the internet for the students makes classes run smoother and more efficent. The excel work is great for students who are not that strong on computing skills and the use of questions from the textbook transformed into an excel spreadsheet is very helpful for evaluating how one would set up problems when presented without a format.

The instructors ability to communicate on our level. He was personable, not difficult to ask questions and was always available.
