Systems Understanding Aid (SUA)

The purpose of the systems understanding aid is to help you experience the accounting processes and concepts that we discuss in class. After you have completed the various stages of the SUA and we have reviewed them in class, you should have a better understanding of how accounting data and information is processed in the traditional "manual, paper-trail" accounting system.

You will be using Option 1 (p. 10) and the blue version Transactions List in the SUA materials. There are 5 separate assignments as identified in the SUA Assignment Schedule:

Their due dates are identified in the Daily Schedule web page. You must submit the materials listed in the Assignment Schedule. The problems are due at the start of class on the scheduled due date. You must use the Excel spreadsheet in lieu of the journal and ledger workbooks that are included in the SUA packet.

Grading is based on your ability to submit a complete and accurate assignment in a timely manner.
