Security WebQuest- Introduction

Security refers to attempts to ensure that an organization's resources are not misappropriated or compromised in a manner that prevents them from being used to help the organization fulfill its mission. With the hype about computer security, it is easy to forget that security programs must protect all firm resources, through some combination of hardware, software, people, and enforced policies and procedures. Those resources include tangible and intangible assets that must be protected in both the physical and the virtual worlds.

Security measures are increasingly vital as organizations open up their operations and recording keeping to business parties and other individuals. Ideally, they are embedded into an organization's culture and operations and are not an after thought that is just tacked on.
