What qualities or characteristics helped to make the course instructor effective?

I really enjoyed the use of powerpoint combined with links to relevant web sites used for examples. I felt that all of the information that was covered in the class was current and related to what we will see as professionals in the "real world". I also thought that the webquests were useful for finding resources that will be usefull in the workplace.

It was obvious to me that the instructor enjoys the subject matter and that enthusiasm carrys over into the presentation of materials. The instructor speaks clearly and distinctly, and he appears to be comfortable with the technology used.

Responses to student e-mail was handled in a timely manner and very useful on getting things done quickly. Keeping students up to speed with the grading process was very useful to see spots where I felt I was lacking.

Willingness to hear ideas despite the jokes.

The instructor is very knowledgeable about many subjects. His vast experience served him well as he was able to shed light on many ideas that I hadn't thought of. His quick feedback on grades was also very helpful.

You know what you are talking about and constantly update your own knowledge. In doing so, it helps me become more aware of the ever changing world of technology and its impacts on accounting. Your enthusiasm and interest in student learning help me stay interested in the topics even when I don't feel like going to my classes.

The use of the PowerPoint slides allowed me to pay more attention to what the instructor was saying, instead of furiously taking notes. The real life examples from websites were helpful in applying the information

I felt that the Webquests were effective in re-enforcing the chapter materials. Also, I felt that being able to print out the presentations and take notes on them was helpful.

Web designing poject is one of the qualities that make this class very effective. It enables us to learn from the practice how to design a professional webpage. It also enables us to appreciate some of the professional webpages that are online. Similarly, the security issuess we discussed in class would also help us anytime we are doing electronic payments. There are some many things we have been taken for granted when we pay our bills online. For instance never before have I check to find out whether the website that I do pay my bills are secured.

His anal retentive attention to detail and communication was the best I have ever experienced in any class. His early arrival and advanced preparation for classes mitigated the frustration that I normally experience with DE classes. I did not feel cheated of class time due to avoidable technical delays. His use of the powerpoint slides to outline the discussion rather than script the class was effective. The slides were also more effective for the addition of extra information that was not included in the book. Supplemental information was timely and interesting. I especially appreciated his restructure of the chapters in the book. The course made a lot more sense using his outline. Given the real need for computer and research expertise in the field of accounting the Web Quest process is an exceptioal learning tool.

The Professor was entertaining and used models that were very informative.
